CMD’s approach to business is to seek to provide solutions for its customers, extending beyond that of an equipment supplier, acting more as a stakeholder to its customer, providing greater added value through total customer satisfaction. Established in 1984 we are a wholly owned British company that believes in British design and manufacture. Since the management buyout back in June 2008, the business has been on a journey to consolidate and reflect CMD’s business model, values and improve efficiency. This in turn offers customers better value-for-money and improved customer service.
It’s our mission to support all our customers and to add value by continually investing in good quality products, ensuring that we deliver a reliable first class service. We know from speaking to our customers you don’t always realise the ‘Total Solution’ we offer. More commonly, we offer a number of value-added design services or product options that aren’t always available from others.
CMD Ltd has been on a constant journey to improve its working practices with the achievement of ISO 9001 certification from BSI (British Standards) just being the start as we look to achieve certification of BSI ISO 14001 for 2012. The BSI ISO 9001 certification is backed by UKAS, the sole national accreditation body recognised by the UK Government to provide certification, testing & inspection. The UKAS level of service is a recognised symbol as the industry mark of quality. This gives you the confidence that CMD’s manufacturing processes are carried out to the high standards required by UKAS and that all measurements can be traced back to UK national standards for all three of our manufacturing sites and office locations; Rotherham (Head Office), Preston and our London showroom (Clerkenwell, EC1).
With the ever increasing fast pace of today’s society, many of the pressures and demands that we experience daily in the 21st century would not have even been a concern only a couple of decades earlier. With more pressure on businesses and organisations for quick turnaround on projects, shorter lead times and bespoke creative solutions that fit the individual client requirement are now an everyday common occurrence. We appreciate this and understand that finding the right solution and supplier for the job in hand need not become a complicated affair which is why our London showroom is situated in the highly popular Clerkenwell, London area and our design studio is on site to facilitate these high pressure demands. We pride ourselves on building long term and mutually beneficial relationships that together lead to profitable working partnerships.
Our Design Studio – With unrivalled experience in the design of ergonomic monitor arms, cable management solutions, power modules & bracketing for projects across UK and the world, CMD offer a first class, bespoke design service. Our ability to implement variations on our standard product range which we affectionately term ‘Specials’, as well as creating entirely customer lead specials, means we are equipped to deal with even the most demanding of requests. Utilising the latest solid modelling software and techniques, we have the expertise to deliver a total design solution to your project requirements.
British at the Heart – We are about to launch a number of new products that CMD Ltd is exceptionally proud of in terms of the current economic climate & competition ref the rest of the world! For 2012 we are launching 2 new monitor arms (called Air – Gas Lift monitor arm + Motion – Pole monitor arm) & CMD Footprint (online dashboard that can monitor & schedule desk power). All the Injection Moulding parts & New Tooling for the new arms have been made in the UK – literally in Yorkshire and this was a huge investment in terms of the R&D for CMD as China was looked at and was significantly cheaper but we believed being a British company that supporting our UK economy and being locally sourced would be worth the investment.
