We use only the highest quality architectural powders. Powdertech processes are all compliant with the requirements of British and European Standards, BS6496/ISO 12206 and BS6497/EN 13438 as well as being approved for the application of Syntha Pulvin Architectural Powders, Plascoat Thermoplastic Powders, IGP, and Dupont. We also use Tiger Coatings, and Akzo Nobel/Interpon powders.
We coat the following substrates:
• Aluminium (extruded, folded, and cast)
• Hot dip galvanized steel
• Mild Steel
• Shot blast mild steel
• Stainless Steel.
Our sales support includes colour matching and sourcing, touch up remedial paint kits, technical and design advice.
Our purpose-built Corby factory boasts one of the most up-to-date and flexible powder coating plants in the country. We can accommodate a 6.5m horizontal line or a 2.2m vertical line, with a weight capacity of 1000kg.
Quality and consistency of coating – With fully programmable powder guns and reciprocators, power coating settings are set automatically to suit the size and dimension of the material to be coated. Awkwardly shaped and complex fabrications are easily accommodated.
Quick turn-around capability – Different colours and types of powder can be used consecutively, speeding up the transit of fabrications through the system.
Pre-treatment is an essential part of the powder coating process and is key to a successful result. We provide a 9-stage conversion coating for aluminium and 5 stages for galvanized steel, vapor degreasing for mild steel, shot blasting for structural steel and fettling of hot dip galvanized steel. Powdertech is one of the few coaters to have invested in an in-house paint stripping facility – in the event of components needing to be reprocessed we use a chemical immersion process in order to reveal the original substrate material without damage or distortion.
Powdertech is an ISO 9001 approved company and critical processes are independently audited on a regular basis. These include pre-treatment chemical strength, water purity and curing oven temperature control. Final inspection criteria are recorded and include film thickness, gloss and colour. We routinely process sample panels for additional testing and long term storage as a record of process parameters.
