About Safesite
Service, reliability and cost competitiveness are the key principles to Safesite’s continued success within the marketplace. Investment in facilities, systems, procedures and professionally qualified staff means that Safesite is able to ensure continual product innovation and quality assurance.
Installed Fall Protection Solutions
The company manufactures and installs systems through its offices at Crawley and Runcorn and through its authorised distributors who cover Scotland, Northern Ireland and Eire.
Safesite provides a full range of fall protection equipment including guardrails, lifelines, mobile man anchors, rescue and anchorage systems and is one of the few companies able to offer a complete range of solutions from a single source.
The company’s recruitment within the construction industry provides the client with a professionally qualified team of Surveyors and Engineers who evaluation, organise, install and certify the required system for each project.
Supply Only Products
When it comes to supply only, Safesite offers a range of products at extremely competitive prices. Where relevant, site specific layout drawings and wind speed calculations are provided free of charge as is a complete O&M manual covering the assembly, installation and recertification requirements of the product.
Recertification
Companies must provide a safe working environment but ensuring safe access for work does not simply end by investing in and installing safety equipment.
Once equipment has been installed it must be maintained and examined at least once a year as outlined in BS 7883:1997 and BS EN 365:1993. Companies and/or individuals who do not comply with this can be held accountable if an accident occurs and the equipment is found to be faulty and/or uncertified.
As part of its re-certification service, Safesite’s qualified engineers will not only assess roof safety equipment such as lifeline systems and guardrails, but will also inspect and certify all PPE used in conjunction with this equipment, including lanyards and harnesses.
In addition to the re-certification, Safesite’s engineer will also advise on any fall from height concerns around the site and, if required, carry out individual training on equipment provided. This will help to ensure that everyone using the safety equipment is trained on the correct usage as well as how to check equipment such as PPE for any sign of fault before using it.
Health & Safety Training
Safesite provides a range of workplace health and safety as well as product training courses.
All training courses are run by fully qualified City & Guilds trainers and include Asbestos Awareness, COSHH Assessor, Working at Height, Rescue at Height, Workplace Risk Assessor and IOSH Managing and Working Safely.
Competency
When it comes to health & safety, especially specialised areas such as work at height, it is essential that you only use a competent company. Competency can be demonstrated by certification as well as experience.
Safesite’s recruitment within the construction and health & safety industries means that we have a professionally qualified team of technicians, surveyors, installers, engineers and health & safety practitioners. The company is actively involved with key industry bodies such as the HSE, RIBA, RICS, IOSH, Construction Health & Safety Group and the BSIF and ensures that all staff are fully trained on relevant health & safety disciplines.
Safesite is an active member of the British Safety Industry Federation Height Safety Group (BSIF[HSG]) and also the Work at Height Safety Association (WAHSA). Membership of these professionally recognised interest groups is carefully controlled and company performance is monitored to ensure that the member is delivering sound advice and, most importantly, is operating competently within the industry.
These interest groups provide a vital link to government and the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) as well as Europe and assist with the preparation of advice, guidance notes, approved codes of practice, legislation and European standards and the dissemination of this information within the industry. Safesite’s involvement with these groups means that the company is aware of any forthcoming changes or announcements relating to legislation, standards or products before they become public knowledge.
